A reception for FLINTA* people and their allies
The conversation around gender equality is louder than ever. But anyone who believes equality has already been achieved in the music industry isn't looking closely enough. As long as FLINTA* people remain underrepresented in line-ups, leadership positions, studios, on and behind festival stages, and in decision-making spaces, gender equality is not a trend – it's unfinished business.
Change doesn't happen on its own, and it certainly can't be carried by FLINTA* people alone. It happens when we connect, share knowledge, raise our voices, build alliances, and challenge existing structures together.
That's why Keychange, MEWEM, faemm, Music Women Germany, FLINTA Netzwerk, musicisherpassion, and Bundesstiftung Livekultur are once again inviting you toFLINTA & Friends* during Reeperbahn Festival, taking place on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, at 8:00 pm at Schmidtchen – a reception for FLINTA* people and their allies. This evening is more than a networking event. It is a space for solidarity, exchange, and new alliances. A place to share experiences, broaden perspectives, and gather strength for the changes our industry still needs. A special impulse of the evening will come from our Keynote Speaker Nebou, a member of the bangerfabrique collective, cultural educator, moderator and actress.
Following the reception, our partner recordJet will host the FLINTA* Music Force Showcase, bringing outstanding FLINTA* artists to the stage. Because visibility doesn't end with conversation – it must be heard, seen, and celebrated.
Let's strengthen our networks, break down barriers, and work together to ensure that gender equality in the music industry is not only discussed, but lived. Let’s change the system – together.
