Looking Back: Federal Cultural Conference “Gender Equality Now!”

What a powerful third Federal Cultural Conference “Gender Equality Now!” On May 21, we gathered at Silent Green in Berlin with numerous stakeholders from the music industry, cultural policy, funding organizations, and civil society to discuss the future of a fairer and more diverse music sector.

The strong response, the large number of attendees, and the inspiring discussions clearly demonstrated how relevant gender equality is to the future of the music industry.

Together, we explored topics such as visibility, fair pay, diversity in leadership and decision-making positions, economic participation, family-friendly working conditions, and the impact of current social developments on the cultural sector. Particularly valuable were the diverse perspectives shared by our speakers, who not only highlighted existing challenges but also proposed concrete solutions and political demands.
