Shaping Change at c/o pop Convention: Networking, Visibility, and Critical Dialogue
As part of this year’s c/o pop Convention, Music Women* Germany was present with several formats, creating spaces for exchange, visibility, and critical discussion.
At the FLINTA* & Friends Networking event, one thing stood at the center: connection. Between an inspiring keynote, numerous new encounters, and in-depth conversations—even informally in the beer garden—it became clear how essential solidarity-based networks are for driving sustainable change in the music industry.
In addition, our panel “BREAKING THE BARRIER – Rap as a Reflection of Power Shifts in the Music Industry” offered a deep dive into key topics. Together with Die P and Lina Burghausen, current dynamics in German rap were explored: from the role of digital platforms like TikTok to increasing FLINTA* visibility, as well as structural questions of power, authenticity, and exclusion. Moderated by Julia Gröschel, the discussion created a nuanced dialogue between artistic practice and industry analysis, showing that change is already well underway, and must continue to be actively shaped!
